Wound Developed Pustules Despite IV antibiotics… concerning?
First pic shows the purulent material building around the wound. Second pic was Tuesday night. Bite from domestic cat (outdoor cat, no recent vax, canine puncture at the joint) Sat night, went on augmentin, Sunday night (~16hrs post incident) streaking up to the crease of my elbow developed so I went back to ER for IV antibiotics. They tried to turn me away to continue orals until I pushed back. Hospitalized on IVs thru this morning. Pustules developed overnight. In the 3 hrs since I took this picture, they’ve grown about 1-2mm in width. Not more swollen, no add’l pain. They’re sending me home on augmentin again, and given how laissez faire they’ve been about this, I’m nervous.
