Was really annoyed how you couldn’t do anything to stop the spread in UBCM so this what I’ve would’ve done if the CYAO was real

>Don't terror bomb Kentucky, focus on Knox facilities
>Demand Powel not to be a retard with the zomboids
>Don't siege Knox, take it immediately
>Zurge rush st louse to cut off
Zombies contagion
>Ally with the rednecks against the zomboids
>ignore africa

The Pop culture threat characters are facing have no precedent in universe

(MIXED TROPE)

  1. The Walking Dead

Despite the Walkers being the most zombie zombies ever the characters have no knowledge of this. According to Kirkman himself zombie media does not exist in universe. Leading to characters cartoonishly avoiding the word zombie at all cost.

  1. Disclosure Day

(Spoilers kinda?) While unlike walking dead there is no explicit confirmation I get the impression it’s the same sorta deal as walking dead. When the main characters gf sees the aliens corpses (who btw are most cartoon grey aliens ever since Paul) she remarks “are those children”. Across the movie they are never called aliens only extraterrestrial or other similar words. People in the media at the end also are extremely confused on what they are when faced with images of them.

I don’t not get this trope which is why it’s mixed. You end up having to have a nerd type character of someone really obsessed and knowledgeable on the threat. And generally in horror or any media it’s more fun to the characters just not in the know. On the other hand for the audience it can come off very silly.

(Just for some clarification I mean more if they unaware of like vampires or mummies then say something established in universe. Like in Friday the 13th being unaware of Jason is not in this trope)
