Advice: bees behaving oddly

Forewarn, I know nothing about bees really but we tend to have a hive of honeybees in our tree most years, they’ve been happy in there this year but today we’ve noticed a huge group of bees on the lawn, there’s one section of this which is more active than the others - I assume there’s a queen in there. But also there’s still plenty of activity going in and out of the actual hive. Do I need to do anything or is this normal? They’ve been there for at least a couple of hours but maybe a lot longer

UPDATE:
Had a local couple come to take a look, said it’s uncommon behaviour but they’ve seen it before
They think it’s regular swarming activity, the colony has split into two but they’ve taken a rest on the grass due to it being hot, they’ve put a transport hive here and will be leaving it for them to move into
