Ethical housing in San Juan, Puerto Rico

My two friends and I just booked a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico to celebrate our recent graduation. We originally planned to stay in an Air BnB, but I’ve been reading about the ethical implications of that and now I’m reconsidering. I’d be ok to stay at a hotel, but I don’t want to support some massive chain instead of the local people. Does anyone have any thoughts on the best type of place to stay? Or does anyone know any locally owned places in San Juan we could stay at?

I’m graduation from UofL on Saturday and I want to go out for drinks Saturday night. Everyone always goes to Atomic but that’s not really my vibe. I’m not into clubs (at least the ones here they’re always lame). I was thinking somewhere more fun but lowkey. I’ve been to Hell and Highwater which was nice but a little too formal for going out after graduation. Does anyone have any suggestions? Preferably nothing really expensive.
