Three days in Desolation Wilderness

I have been to a lot of breathtaking places in my life, but... yeesh. I spent three days solo backpacking through one of the more well-known parts of Desolation Wilderness. My permit was for Zone 33, so I set out from Echo Lake to Lake Aloha and also visited Lake Margery, Lake Lucille, Heather Lake, Susie Lake, and Gilmore Lake. With backtracking and various fartings around on and off the trails I ended up doing about thirty-three miles. Super fun.

[WTS] Gossamer Gear Gorilla 50L backpack, Size M, yellow, 32 oz

For sale: Gossamer Gear Gorilla 50L backpack, Size Medium, in yellow. Weighs 32 oz. Includes a medium straight PVT hip belt and the factory removable foam back pad that came with the pack. The condition of the pack is like new: no damage, rips, tears, or signs of abuse. I purchased it early August 2026 and only took it on a few 5-mile training hikes around my neighborhood, and never actually took it out into the wilderness. It just doesn't fit me, and this is the second pack from them I've ordered that wasn't a good fit on my body, so I've gone with a different manufacturer. My loss is your gain!
