Native SoCal plants that do well potted

Hi all, I’m located in LA with a very sunny balcony that faces southwest. I’d love to add some native plants to my collection, especially a pollinator that hummingbirds might be into.

My question id are there native coastal scrub varieties that do well potted? I just don’t have a lot of room on a balcony.

My sad pomegranate

My pomegrante was thriving last year but over the course of a few months it's taken a turn for the worse. Inspecting it, there are these odd bumps on it that when crushed turn into dust. I've been applying neem and crushing the bumps, but it doesn't seem to help. I've got in a well lit area with well-draining soil. Any ideas?
