This poll is for the Seniors to answer whether the new students should buy Laptop , Tablet or Both.

Many MBBS seniors and IISER seniors in my contact use iPad which was also my fav and I am still considering it. Best tab matlab Ipad Pro . But apne iss saal ke result ko dekhte hue aur mai IISER , IISC nahi ja rha toh I kinda feel I don't deserve to buy it🫠 and also the price hike by apple 💀

As ICT students we will have to do research work , read lots of research papers , books and it's not much more but it seems very cool to me using the tab with the Pencil Pro. But yeah I am considering a downgrade... Maybe an Android Tab 😆. Cuz it's just reading the papers and other PPT , excel related tasks can be done as many Tabs come with the Keyboard.

But I already use a Laptop I( It's i3 so will buy at least an i7 if I buy a laptop)

As I think of ICT a Non-Tech institute which requires Research aptitude than the Engineering stuff as they need only Laptops for coding and stuff.

So which should I buy Laptop or Tab or Both?

Hi guys , I am new to this Reddit Page but I am seriously focused on ICT Mumbai. I even visited the Matunga Campus and decided that Chemical Engineering is my first preference if not Chemical then Polymer Engineering.

I have scored 97.45%tile and belong to the Gen-EWS Category. As per the first round Institute wise allocation , the cutoff for Polymer under EWS Category was 97.49%tile. Do I have any chance in the 2nd round which will be announced on 12th August?

Also , I want to know the hostel allocation process and do we easily get the Hostel as I am from Nagpur , it will be difficult for me to live outside of the campus in this expensive city of Mumbai.

I was actually preparing for IISER APTITUDE TEST this year and it was my 2nd drop this year because I decided to give it in for my Research Dream. Wannabe Prof hu🫠. I scored a little less in IAT and was disappointed, though I might have a chance till the final rounds of IAT counselling I decided to pursue Engineering and move on in my life. And then I discovered ICT Matunga , a research oriented institute which has been honoured by the Government of Maharashtra to be the Institute of IISER , IISC 's level of repute. Instantly I was in !

I am just a little more worried if I will get this college .

ONE IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR THE SENIORS:

"AS I WAS PREPARING FOR IAT , I WANTED TO PURSUE BS-MS , AND I WANT SOME COURSE THAT'S MORE RESEARCH ORIENTED THAN JOB OR ENGINEERING. I ALSO WISH TO STUDY PHYSICS OR MATHS LATER , SO IF I DONT GET CHEMICAL OR POLYMER BRANCH , WHICH ELSE CAN I OPT FOR ? IF THERE'S NONE OTHER BRANCH FOR ME THEN PLEASE TELL!
