hi! i’m just starting out making chainmail. i’ve gotten the concept of different weaves down, but i was wondering how you actually shape those into specific things, like armor for example? i’m specifically looking to make a shoulder piece/coif but for time purposes, i’d like to just make the shoulder part of the coif. are there patterns people follow, are you just free handing it? if so, how do you freehand without a mannequin? thanks so much!!
