Senior Diabetic Cat (Tips&Advice Please)!

This is my second post today, so sorry!! But I wanted to know if anyone else travelled with a senior diabetic cat.

I’m taking my cat, Lacey (15 years old) to the UK with me. In order to keep her in the cabin with me I’m flying to Amsterdam (9-10 hours), taking a ferry from Amsterdam to England (12 hours), and then a 3.5 hour drive to my new home.

I’m bringing an insulated lunch bag w/ ice packs (the ones you break) for her insulin, needles, food, etc.

Hoping someone’s done a similar or any long haul flight with a senior diabetic cat. I’ve had her for half of my life. I’m beyond worried about this move (mainly because I stress about her well being), but I couldn’t live with myself if I let anything happen to her.

Thank you 😭

Travelling from YVR to EU & UK

Hi everyone!

Long story short, I’m moving from Vancouver, BC to England with my LDR partner of over 3.5 years.

I’m taking my 15 year old diabetic cat. We’re going the long way to England by flying from YVR to Amsterdam, taking a ferry from Amsterdam to New Castle, and then driving to our place.

I’ve been looking for months to figure out what exact paperwork needs to be printed and filled out but everything I find is never the same, and I’m so confused/on the verge of a mental breakdown LOL.

we’ve already gotten her microchip + rabies booster. I’ve reached out to the CFIA office to book an appt (I know that needs to be done within 10 days of travel). But can anyone please help me/guide me to the exact paperwork that’s needed? I assume I’ll also need a note from my vet to bring needles and meds for my cat on the plane as she will be in the cabin with me. We’re taking KLM for the flight as well.

Thank you so much in advance! Also, Lacey photo for tax 🥰
