Anderson .Paak and Cordae to release collab album "Heavy Is The Crown" on October 23rd

Anderson .Paak and Cordae to release collab album "Heavy Is The Crown" on October 23rd

Pre-orders of physical copies have started appearing on online stores, such as RRC, listing the release date as October 23rd

> Nine-time GRAMMY® winner Anderson .Paak and GRAMMY®-nominated rapper Cordae have been operating on the same wavelength for years. What started as pure chemical reaction on 2019’s “RNP” slowly turned into one of hip-hop’s most natural, low-ego partnerships, fueled by back-and-forth gems like “Two Tens” and “Summer Drop” and a series of dynamic TV performances that felt more like two best friends hanging out than a polished routine. On their debut collaborative album, Heavy Is The Crown, that organic bond gets the full-length treatment it’s always deserved.

> At its core, the project is a tightrope walk between serious real-life stakes and uncompromising fun. The title isn't just bravado—it speaks directly to the shared weight both artists carry as the primary providers and anchors for their families. But instead of letting that pressure crush the vibe, .Paak and Cordae lean into each other. Meeting as total equals, .Paak’s elastic, soul-drenched musicality anchors Cordae’s razor-sharp lyricism, allowing both to unpack the heavy reality of success and family responsibility without ever losing their spark.

> That balance is what makes the album tick. To drive the point home, the album art pays homage to the cult comedy Step Brothers—a nod to the silly, irreverent friendship that birthed the music in the first place. Heavy Is The Crown doesn't feel like a forced corporate crossover or a calculated career move. It’s a record about brotherhood, family, and what happens when two masters of their craft step into the studio simply because nobody makes them laugh, rap, or create quite like the other.

> Production by J. Cole, 9th Wonder, Hollywood Cole, Conductor Williams, Swizz Beatz, FNZ, The Collective, Soul Anderson & Caleb

Ciarán (fka Bearface from BROCKHAMPTON) releases website teasing new music

https://ciar-an.co/

The "LOGS" section features this message from Ciarán:

> I’m going to keep this first post brief as to not get too long winded. I really and truly appreciate every single person who has remained excited at even the prospect of me coming back and releasing something. Its been an extensive and intentional process and I hope you can enjoy the music (and the process of that which it comes) with an open heart and I hope it can become something that you could see yourself living with for a long while.

> I wanted to have this website as a place to post periodically that can hopefully live slightly outside the noise and frame of the usual hubs of Continuous Information Consumption. I’ve also been preparing Hard with the help of some great friends so that some of you can experience the music firsthand, in a way that will hopefully do the recordings justice. For the heads. See you shortly.

The "AUDIO" section features a 50 second snippet of a piano

The "LIVE", "VIDEO" and "STORE" sections all currently lead to a "COMING SOON" page

The website's copyright section lists the UK based label Ninja Tune

Anyone else get their merch with stains on it?

Got my IBA hoodie this week and was pretty dissapointed to see stains on it. Hoped they would go away after a round in the washing machine but they unfortunately didn’t

Perry Maysun reveals graphic album cover for "Pathetic Beasts" featuring surgery photo, says it was denied by DSPs 5 times

Instagram source, NSFW/Graphic

> The cover got rejected 5 times. 6th times the charm,

> It’s my open leg during surgery. When I lost half of it to cancer .

>“Pathetic Beasts” - The Album. June 5th.

In reply to a comment saying "i don't get the significance outside of cheap shock value tbh :/", he said this:

> so essentially , I had a cancer called osteosarcoma and this is the picture the surgeon took As they were saving my life, and leg. (Removing the tumor )

> The significance is that the album is called “Pathetic Beasts” and this image really illustrates this to literal level of anatomy . Showing the meat and bones that we so commonly eat in a desensitized manner writing off chicken and other and other animals as just beasts .

> Furthermore . Only a small percentage of youths (under 35 ) in America experience serious disease and never have to imagine or think about what’s under their skin .

> It’s very important to bring awareness and look the uncomfortableness straight in the eye.
