Social smiling?
Hi! Our little man was born 6/11 (due 7/4) and has T21. He has been relatively healthy since birth— we did spend a couple weeks in the hospital due to low platelets and trouble maintaining his oxygen. He was diagnosed with TAM so we will be monitoring that closely of course over the next several years. Now, he is home, off oxygen, and gaining weight beautifully! My husband and I are desperately waiting for his first intentional smile though, especially my husband. Dealing with the grief of our son’s diagnosis (even though we knew beforehand) has been tough for him, and I think a smile will let him know that our boy is “there”. All of that to say— when did your baby start social smiling/smiling intentionally? Of course I know we will be on a different timeline as far as milestones go, but from what I’ve read, this particular milestone usually occurs pretty similarly to typical babies!
