How funny it would be if the next ep of the other place interview the caveman?

Was listening to ep 26 and Brady talked a bit about his review "system". Just hit me how funny it would be if Myke interviews him in his next ep of Cortex

SQE2 CLP Drafting: Hearsay Notice - s.116 v s.117(1)(c) v s.114(1)(d)

Hi all,

I was doing a mock as subject. In the mock scenario, a witness has been injured 1 week before trial and therefore could not attend. Hence the notice is needed for the "summary of evidence" included in the attachments.

In the notice template, the options are 116 and 117(1c) and 114(1)d. I picked 117 and 114 thinking there is a summary of evidence "prepared for the criminal proceedings". But the suggested answer picks 116 only. Can anyone advise why it's only 116?

Many many thanks!

Ep 2: I am gonna be so fxxked by Research… #SQE2

Today I was doing a mock and it broke me. It broke me, man.

  1. There were 14 attachments. 14... I know some of them were irrelevant, but triaging takes time and... IDK how you feel, but some judgments and statutes are very hard to read, even for actual lawyers.
  2. I know the suggested solution is supposed to be an ideal answer. And I know you are supposed to write more than what the partner asks for if the facts call for it. But how the hell could I have thought of 3-4 topics that are not asked for!? While I am spending time reading 14 attachments!?

Any advice welcome (and honestly desperately needed).

Side note: I think I can articulate a part of the reason why this provider, that definitely helped me pass SQE1, is now f'ing me in the behind so bad in SQE2. Because it sticks to their motto, "harder mocks, easier pass." With SQE1 it's fine because you only need to learn about an exam that has definitive answers (MCQ). But for SQE2, to begin with, there is already another whole new component to the whole exam (learning "output," vs. in SQE1 the output is just clicking an option). The hard mocks plus the output-learning is now demoralizing.

Sorry for rambling.

SQE2 Vent: I am gonna be so fxxked by Research…

I was doing a mock on dispute research. It’s a topic I have never studied: group litigation or representative claims.

While both CPR r 7 and r 19 were attached, I thought r 7 was a misdirect because I didn’t know r 7.3 (representative claims) was relevant. I didn’t read it because ignorant me thought it was about an adult representing a child or something (because r 21 was also attached). I moved on to only read r 19 because the name “Group Lit Order” is obvious enough.

I wrote my entire answer solely about GLO because I NEVER studied group actions in my SQE1! I didn’t know what a representative claim means. Am I supposed to read ALL the CPRs cover to cover on the spot? I was already spent by reading the 4 judgments provided. It’s time-consuming to just try to guess why the judgments were provided. I have to read ALL the rules too!!?

God help me…. Sorry for rambling.

SQE2 Writing vs KISS

Hi everyone,

I write emails all day in my day job. It is hammered into me to write succinctly. As I started to prep for SQE2, I have been really struggling with my writing style.

Is it better to writing in the exam like this (from a suggested answer in a mock)?

>I look forward to hearing from you once you have further considered all that I have included in this letter so that if you decide to proceed I can take steps to get things moving.

>If you have any questions about anything in this letter or arising from our meeting, please do not hesitate to contact me

Or like this?

>I look forward to hearing from you. Any questions, let me know.

Really dreadful to face the prospect of forcing my brain to change how it thinks. Like I can't just change my personality on demand. I couldn't even if I wanted to.

Big thanks in advance!

QLTS SQE2 Drafting Mock: defence + partner note?

Hey everyone,

I was practising drafting a defence for a SQE2 mock exam on QLTS. The instructions say to also prepare a note for the partner about when to file the acknowledgement of service. However, it seems like the writing window only lets me draft the defence.

#Should I make a new page? It doesn't seem to have that feature. It's all an endless page.

#Should I make many, many new lines? Seems strange.

#Did I miss a button to create a new doc? Not sure how close QLTS UI is to the real thing

Huge thanks in advance!

SQE2: if you can't recall things on the spot

I searched through a few of the resources I have. But it doesn't really advise on what to do if I could not recall all the elements on the spot (say I can't remember the 3/4 requirements for getting an asset freezing order).

What should I write in my answer?

Thanks!

SQE2 UI vs QLTS

Hi everyone,

a few questions about the actual exam user interface (UI) compares to the QLTS mock platform:

  • How closely does the real SQE2 exam interface resemble the QLTS mock UI? For SQE1, they are like margot robbie/samara weaving
  • Copy and Paste: Is it possible to copy and paste text directly from the provided materials into the answer window?
  • Window Management: In the real exam, can you type your answer while a document/attachment is open? Furthermore, can you open two documents simultaneously alongside your answer window (i.e., having three windows visible at once)?

Thank you so much in advance
