In 2025, despite the rain, the buses got through! BxB had 246 buses, 7058 participants in and 6285 out.
There were about 1500 in and 1500 out by BxA.
ATM Broadway shows in Portland are hot and profitable, but they may not be forever. Broadway shows need a larger stage width, depth, and height as well as truck loading and unloading.
The city has the Schnitzer, 2,800, Newmark Theater , 880, on SW Broadway. Moda is used for the giant pop shows with seating 3,000-20,000. The Veterans Memorial Coliseum is about 3,000-12,000, and the Timbers/Thorns capacity is 25,000-31,000.
Now we have the about 4200 seat AEG/Monqui, and the 3,500 seat Live Nation coming. The Live Nation Sunlight/Sleep Country/Cascades Amphitheater holds about 8,000 inside plus 10,000 outside.
McMenamins and True West each have several venues.
I wonder how our new high school auditoriums could be used for commercial shows making money for the schools.
Certainly fire trap the Roseland, 1,400, should be torn down.
To seismic, it may be an unpopular opinion, but how many hours a year are these venues used? After an earthquake, would they still need to be town down? Certainly we want earthquake survivable hospitals and fire stations.
I hope someone is looking at the total venue capacity equation and the overall economy to support ticket prices and our leisure time budget.
