I learned this as a Lead Locally Fellow during last years election

Vote tripling is an easy no cost way to motivate your friends and neighbors to get out and vote.

It’s simple. You text three of your friends and remind them that election day is tomorrow.

If your three friends cooperate and text three people each that’s nine voters contacted. And if those nine repeat the process, that’s 27 voters, and if those 27 don’t break the chain that’s 81 voters. And so on and so on.

Here’s a sample text

Hi ….

I’m texting to remind you that election day is tomorrow, Saturday, May 16. It’s important that we get a strong turnout to support our candidates and to send a message to the Republicans, who are trying to drag Louisiana – and the entire south – back to the dark days preceding the Voting Rights Act.

The New Orleans Democratic Executive Committee is recommending a NO vote on all five constitutional amendments.

You’ll be voting at your regular polling location. Louisiana polls are open from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.

And – VERY IMPORTANT – please text three of your friends and ask them to forward the text. If your friends text three people and they in turn flip the text to three more folks and if those three do the same, we’ll have reached 81 voters.

And remember, if you’re in the line when the polls close stay in that line because they are required to let you vote.
