Water pooling inside unit when turned off, normal? Worried about mold - MAW12V1UWT
Hi, recently purchased a MAW12V1UWT unit from Amazon and installed it. Drain plug has been removed entirely and the unit tilts outside pretty severely. Seeing tons of water draining outside while the unit is running, so that’s good. Does a great job cooling the space.
Today I opened up the front to give the filter a cleaning and saw some pools of water inside below the fins, see pictures.
I’ve got the top cover removed and the drain plug out entirely. Tried running on “fan only” mode for an hour after cooling to dry this all out and humidity of the room raises above 60% causing me to want to put “dry” mode back on…. Kind of an endless catch 22 loop.
Is this normal behavior? Any concern for mold growth?
Dew point is 72F right now with a Rh of 70%. Window where it's installed is on the top floor of a century rowhome with poor / no insulation.
