"The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) is excited to announce the field for the 2026 Memorial Cup presented by Kubota, which will take place May 21-31 in Kelowna, British Columbia. In addition to the host Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL), the 106th edition of the Memorial Cup will feature the WHL champion Everett Silvertips, the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) champion Kitchener Rangers, and the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) champion Chicoutimi Saguenéens."
It'll be available on none other than Victory+ as well as NHL Network.
We have three Ducks prospects to look out for in the tournament and I would expect to see all of them with the Gulls (or even the Ducks) in 27-28 or 28-29 depending on how their development goes in the NCAA.
The WHL Everett Silvertips features 20 year old Anaheim Ducks prospect Tarin Smith (LHD), currently injured, that also serves as the captain of the club. It is his third year with the club.
Through their regular season, he posted career high numbers in assists (55), points (71) and +/- (65) and tied his career high in goals (16) through 65 games. He had 2 GWG and 1 OTG. Of his 16 goals 1 was on the powerplay while 23 of his assists were also on the powerplay meaning he had 24 powerplay points. Tarin Smith was a finalist for the WHL defenseman of the year award. Smith was drafted in 2024, 79th overall in the 3rd round. On his draft day, Roger McQueen referenced knowing Tarin Smith as they are both from Saskatchewan. Smith is committed to the University of Minnesota for the upcoming season.
Through the playoffs, Smith posted 2a and had a +/- of 6 through 4 games before being injured. In a post game interview after the Silvertips victory, it looks to be an upperbody injury that required a cast or sling, so I'm not sure if Smith will be able to play in the Memorial Cup or not. I'd assume not.

The QMJHL Chicoutimi Saguenéens features two Ducks prospects in 20 year old Maxim Massé (RW), who wears an "A" for his club, and 18 year old Émile Guité (LW).
Massé is committed to the University of Massachusetts and has earned multiple awards throughout his time with Chicoutimi including the Michel Bergeron Trophy (QMJHL offensive rookie of the year) in 22-23, the CHL rookie of the year in 22-23, the Michael Bossy Trophy (QMJHL best prospect for pro hockey) in 23-24 and this season earned the Jean Béliveau Trophy (QMJHL top scorer). He is a true offensive force and posted career high numbers in all categories this year with 51g, 51a, 102p and +63 with 8 GWG in 62 games played. 16 of his 51 goals were on the powerplay. Massé was also drafted in 2024, 66th overall in the 3rd round.
Through the playoffs, Massé had 6g, 18a, 24p and +9 with 1 GWG through 20 games.
Émile Guité was drafted in 2025, 159th overall in the 5th round. It was only his second year in the QMJHL, but he also put up career high numbers with 32g, 33a, 65p and a +39 with 3 GWG in 59 games with the club. He also had 1 shootout goal (on 3 attempts) which was the game winner. He played in two preseason games with the Ducks in 2025 and posted 1a on Friday, September 12, 2025 in a 6-3 L against the San Jose Sharks.
Through the playoffs, Guité was 2nd in the league in powerplay goals with 5 and posted 8g, 6a, 14p and a +8 and 1 GWG through 20 games. He posted a 19.5 shooting percentage in both the playoffs and regular season. Guy can rip it. Like Massé, Guité also won the
Michel Bergeron Trophy (QMJHL offensive rookie of the year) in 23-24 and was named CHL rookie of the year the same season. Guité is committed to the University of New Hampshire.

O Hockey Gods,
Hear our plea from the Pond.
We summon the spirit of Scotty circa 2007.
Grant Jackson Lacombe the sacred powers.
Channel the energy from '07.
The coast-to-coast rushes and offensive acumen.
Let every Vegas zone entry die at his blue line.
Bring us to Game 7 and one step closer to Lord Stanley back in its home at Honda Center.
For Orange Country.
It seems Game 5 had us lose two of our key guys to injuries with Poe on the player side and Present on the press side, thank the hockey gods that he and his family were not seriously injured or killed.
Zach Cavanagh and Derek Lee are still going to continue with coverage, but Patrick and Derek have had exceptionally intelligent post-game coverage and thoughts that have really added another layer of depth and value to this postseason.
Send love and support to Patrick.
O Hockey Gods,
Hear our plea from the Pond.
We summon the spirit of Giggy circa 2003.
Grant Lukáš Dostál the sacred powers.
Channel the energy from 2003.
The miracle saves and the stolen games.
Let the broadcast cut repeatedly to stunned VGK fans holding overpriced beers in silence.
One legendary goalie performance and one Game 5 victory.
The VGK will forever remember the name Lukáš Dostál.

Roster on the website echoes this as well. Not sure if any of these guys will see play or what Q is cooking up, but definitely a bit of depth scoring and physicality waiting in the "wings."
