bizarre detail in a book

Have no one to tell this, so, hey! I've been reading a book that focuses on the meaning of runes, but it's more like a Norse Paganism 101. It seems to be very objective and we'll researched! That's why I found it bizarre when the author started adding her personal view on certain issues, under the guise of "this is a special interpretation of this rune only for women xoxo"

Like complaining that women nowadays behave in typically masculine ways (I'm not even sure what she meant by that one; that women should be dainty, I guess) or that women shouldn't artificially interrupt their menstruation just because it's convenient, because you shouldn't interfere with natural cycles, etc etc (not sure what the general consensus on that one is, but to me it's giving terf and a lack of understanding that it's kinda bad to be in more pain than usual and wearing a diaper for a third of every month).

Would appreciate opinions and if this is normal or I just so happened to pick a book by a crazy author 😭
