This year I tried to germinate some seeds from my neighbors incredible plums. I kept them in a wet paper towel in a plastic tub in the fridge and then moved them into my sunroom, when I checked on them the tub towel and seeds were covered in mold, and showed no signs of sprouting, except this one.

Now I don't know if I should plant this in a cup and cover it with soil so the root can be deeper or if I should plant it at the surface to give those tiny leaves some light.

I am also worried about losing this one to any rot it picked up when in the tub so any hot tips to reduce mold risk would be awesome. I'm very new to this so any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you :)
