Torn achilles today

Tore my achilles playing tennis today. Felt like I got kicked in the back of my leg and went down.. Went to the ER right after where they confirmed it was an achilles rupture from a physical examination. They did an xray and you could see the tear on the xray (apparently uncommon?). They put me in an orthoglass splint. Since then (about 12 hours since incident) pain has slowly been increasing from about a 1 to a 3-4.

It is unfortunately my right foot so wont be able to drive for a while.

Obviously have been scouring the internet to figure out what to do/expect. I am planning on getting an appointment with an ortho in the next day or so.

Any helpful advice or what i should expect?

How long until I can drive?

Should I do surgery vs let it heal and do PT?

What is the time frame for the pain?

UPDATE:

Saw the ortho today and he said there is no wrong answer when it comes to surgery vs non op with biggest thing being slightly higher re-rupture rate with non-op. Currently think im leaning against surgery since there dont seem to be any benefits that outweigh the risks of general surgery especially if im careful the first 12 weeks to not mess it up.
