Casita owners guide book worth it, for older casitas?

We are finalizing the purchase of our 2000 liberty deluxe this weekend, what’s the best way to get up to speed on all the ins and outs of this thing? is reading the owners manual good enough or should we splurge on the pricy “owners guide” ebook? is it relevant for 25 year old models?

looking specifically for info on things like weatherproofing, winterizing, troubleshooting, etc.

thanks!

What’s needed to restore casita liberty king bed capability?

Hi we are hoping to buy this nearby casita, the owner passed away and the wife is selling it. The beds have been converted to widened twin setups with custom mattress tops.

If we were to use it we would need to convert it either double or king configuration, but I can’t find any instructions on what pieces I would need to restore this capability? Guessing remove the shelf that is extending the twin beds, buy or build the original table that extends between the beds, and then get the cushions/bedding? Thanks!!

My setup:

2 adults
2 young kids
2 medium sized dogs

Colorado-based camping primarily

Moving up from tent camping / teardrop trailer, so I think we could live without a bathroom, but we need sleeping for 4 (and space for dogs to sleep too). A bathroom would likely be appreciated in the long term though.

The heritage deluxe seems like it has very limited interior space especially if you dont tear down the bed every night, so its pretty much just for sleeping (unless you tear down the bed and convert it then you can sit at the dinette.

Alternatively, the sprit feels really open, all I can find is a deluxe walkthrough but i'm guessing the spirit standard feels even more wide open on the inside. Just not sure how much we would regret not getting a bathroom in the long term. Maybe a composting / portalet or something would be a hybrid approach.

I'm open to other trailer suggestions as well, this all is new to me. One concern I have is if the casita line isn't 'off-road' enough for colorado, I see a lot of trailers out here with big jeep wheels. Guessing some tradeoffs are needed though for the convenience of lightweight trailers.
