A Dark Song (2016)
tonight’s watch was A Dark Song, surprised this one doesn’t get talked about more.
it’s basically two people isolated in a house performing a long occult ritual, and the movie is completely committed to that setup. It’s slow, tense, repetitive in a way that actually works, and the longer it goes on the more uncomfortable the whole place starts to feel.
what i liked most is that the occult stuff feels serious instead of just being there for creepy imagery. There’s a real sense of rules, patience, and consequences behind everything they’re doing.
it won’t work for anyone looking for constant scares, but the atmosphere got to me. Really strange, really bleak, and definitely one I’m glad I finally watched.
