“Fortune Teller” Live in 2015

This was my own recording (sorry for the audio quality) of “Fortune Teller”

Gabby Moreno played this show, and I’m going to keep uploading anything decent.

Advice for Posting To YouTube

I’ve been wanting to share my favorite version of the song “Sanchez” - which is the version on the ‘Scraping’ EP.

However, it doesn’t look like it’s on YouTube currently. For those of you who post to YouTube more often - and suggestions to make sure it doesn’t get dinged by the platform for copyright infringement?

Surviving The Calexi-Pause

Knowing that we all support Joey and the Burns family as they get through their serious illness, we still are hungry for new music, new performances and, well, more Calexico.

I’d love to hear from everyone: What bands and artists do you all listen to that scratch the same itch in the way tha Calexico does? Who do you put on the stereo when you are looking to be transported?

I’ll go first - Jose Gonzalez and Junip bring a lot of that lush orchestration, tremendous lyrics, and eclectic vibes.

Calexico + Iron & Wine Cover - Bring On The Dancing Horses

In the long list of stellar covers by Calexico, this one is a special favorite.

Author & Poet Luis Alberto Urrea

For Calexico fans everywhere, I want to make sure you are familiar with Luis Alberto Urrea, whose work has inspired many Calexico lyrics.

I’ve had the chance to read much of his nonfiction (e.g. “By The Lake of Sleeping Children”) and it is a fantastic window into the world of the strange culture that’s evolved along the U.S./Mexico border.
