Car totalled by river rocks falling from dumptruck in the middle of the highway

Location: Ohio

THIS HAPPENED 3 WEEKS AGO. Not me, but my grandmother was driving on I-270 when the dumptruck in front of her dropped its bed and released tons of river rocks directly on to the hood of her car. The dumptruck never stopped and after pursuing it for a while, she gave up, only managing to get the DOT number on the side of the truck. The car is totalled, and insurance is not giving her nearly what the car is worth. We are now interested in pursuing litigation against the truck driver and company, for damages against the car as well as emotional damages from the trauma of what could have been fatal.

The issues:

#1. She called state highway patrol, but never had them show up to the scene because she was in shock at the time. Because of this, there is no body cam footage.

#2. There are traffic cams in the area, but they typically only save footage from 72 hours ago. I just learned of this incident today, and given it happened 3 weeks ago, I doubt there will still be footage from the time of the incident, but I went ahead and made a request anyway. I also checked the flock camera map, but none of them face towards the highway.

The only physical evidence at this point is the damaged car, as well as a bunch of the rocks which hit her still on the side of the road where it happened. Given there is no recordings of what happened, I am concerned that it ultimately will be hard to sue.

I have advised her to talk to a lawyer, which she plans on doing, but I was wondering if there is anything else which can be done at this point.

Do people think we have a case?

[B][USA-OH] OM-5 and 12-40mm lens

Looking for a lightly used OM5. In addition, I am looking for a 12-40mm f2.8 pro lens to go with it.

Lens reccomendations for Landscape, Astro, and General Use?

I am almost convinced to buy an OM5 for use during backpacking trips, but I am still unsure of what lenses would suit my needs best.

The majority of shots will be landscapes (mountains, rivers, trees, etc.) but it would also be nice to take some shots of the milky way as well.

I would like to limit myself to two lenses total, with a budget of around 500 dollars. What would be the best lenses for my needs?

I would like to cover the most range possible for my budget, as I am very new to photography and completely new to mirrorless cameras.

Please reccomend me a camera for backpacking

Budget: Around 1,000 dollars, including 1 or 2 lenses

Country: United States

Condition: New or used

Type of Camera: Mirrorless

Intended use: Photography

If photography; what style: Landscape, astral/night, wildlife

What features do you absolutely need: Lightweight, durable, small frame

What features would be nice to have: Weatherproof (Or is this necessary?)

Portability: Shoulder strap or small bag. Need to be able to take it into the backcountry for multiple days without taking up too much valuable space

Cameras you're considering: Sony 6000 series, I've heard they are extremely lightweight with great quality but worried about durability. Theres also a lot of models and I don't know which would be best.

Cameras you already have: Canon Rebel DSLR (Way to bulky, heavy, and fragile) also very outdated.

Notes: Mainly looking for a camera that will serve me well while backpacking for days on end, doesn't take up too much space/weight, and can handle a reasonable amount of the elements while delivering great quality photos of mountains, wildlife, and the night sky. It would also be nice if it had an affordable ecosystem for accessories and more lenses.
