After pulling my hair out trying to figure out why the game was running so badly on my more than adequate PC I stumbled across a comment on another post with a solution that fixed everything in an instant.

Restart your controller.

I did just that and now the game runs buttery smooth at 1440p 60fps. I also realized I’ve had this exact issue with regular pc games and the solution was indeed just restarting the controller. Im not sure why it happens, probably a bluetooth issue or something, but I hope this helps save someone their sanity.
