Rejected After Superday, Sell Calls, and Immigration Review — Feeling Completely Broken and Confused
I honestly don’t know how to process what happened today.
I went through the full interview process with Goldman Sachs, cleared the technical rounds, completed Superday, had multiple sell calls with teams that were interested in me, selected my preferred team, and even completed the immigration consultation with Fragomen.
After all of that, I suddenly received a rejection email today.
What’s making this really hard is that nobody prepares you for getting rejected after reaching the sell call stage. I genuinely thought I was at the final step. The teams seemed positive, the process kept moving forward, and I invested so much emotionally and mentally into this opportunity.
I’m on Day-1 CPT, so now I’m wondering if this became an immigration/work authorization issue at the very end, even though I was transparent throughout the process. If that’s the case, I just wish companies would communicate earlier instead of letting candidates go through every stage.
Right now I just feel exhausted, confused, and honestly heartbroken. Months of preparation, stress, interviews, waiting, and hope — and then a generic rejection email after everything.
Has anyone else experienced something similar, especially after sell calls/team matching? Did you ever get clarity on what happened afterward?
Would really appreciate hearing from people who’ve been through this because this one hit me pretty hard.
