Changes are Needed
Armas needs to go. And Hocking with him. She’s not good and has become a liability.
I know we are missing key players but this is not good and I mostly chalk it up to coaching.

I'm so frustrated right now; I have a Dell laptop which has been very successfully running Fusion, Bambu Studio, Blender, etc. including on the laptop screen plus two monitors. I have 16G of RAM. But all of the Makera software, if it runs at all, runs agonizingly slow and crashes often. I know that CNC toolpaths are complex, and laptops aren't exactly power machines but I haven't had these kind of issues before. What are people having success on computer-wise with this software? Are others struggling as well? Do I need to invest in a new computer? So frustrated because I love the Z1,but as I try to run more advanced jobs it has become so frustrating. I know that one answer people will give is to just use Fusion - but I can't afford the full version, plus I want to do some 4 axis work.
Does anyone know/have experience with the laser and the spoilboards that come with the Z1? How much if any does the laser damage it, etc.?
Other nice systems exist but they didn’t provide what I wanted so this is my solution. There are individual trays for each type of bit. Organized so I can see the label on each bit case. I don’t use gridfinity but would probably work well with that system. Will see how it goes as I refine workflows but so far I like it. It’s not as space efficient but I have a dedicated drawer and this works for me.

Thrifted this because I thought it was cool. Very curious about what it was used for - elevator? Patients exam room?
Does (or will) MakeraCam allow you to set up a custom shape for the stock? In other words, instead of a standard block of aluminum, can I upload an STL and set it as the stock shape?
I don’t see any Fly cutter bits available from Makera. Is it not robust enough? I am casting my own metal stock from aluminum and brass and want to be able to smooth the tops as I sometimes do open molds. I am hoping to be able to do that on the Z1. I would like some advice on the best way to shave off excess metal and smooth cast surfaces as part of machining. An example would be making a coin where the cast slug is maybe 3-5 mm too thick. I don’t have access to a belt sander or larger band saw.
