(Meta Trope) Oh! They actually did address that. Neat.

AKA, when a game mechanic, gimmick, or detail is addressed/explained, when other pieces of media would usually not address it.

  1. Screamer (2026): This game has a nonexistent language barrier (like Tekken), where the ensemble cast of characters speak wildly different languages and can perfectly understand each other. This is actually explained as a 'Universal Language Translator' which is able to be installed into a person. The character Gage even modified his to be able to speak to his dog.
  2. Metaphor: ReFantazio: Like many other RPGs, this game has music playing everywhere. In the overworld, towns, and in battle. This is explained as Gallica, Will's companion, casting a spell on his that allows him to hear the music.
  3. Grand Theft Auto V: All three protagonists have a special ability, but the one we'll talk about here is Franklin's, which allows him to slow down time while driving. Another character, Lamar Davis, is the only character that acknowledges that Franklin has such an ability, referring to it as 'that special driving thing he does', and that Franklin looks 'all cross eyed like you constipated', so it can be assumed that Franklin's ability (alongside Michael and Trevor's) is the result of extreme focus.

The new Scary Movie (2026) is reportedly just 90 minutes of references to horror movies that came out since Scary Movie 5. This is a reference to the writers focusing so hard on 'crossing every line' and 'offending Gen Z' that they forgot to be funny.
