Learning an Animals as Leaders song by sight reading guitar notation lol. BAD MOVE. This stuff is tough!

Late night shenanigans as usual. Guitar is a CORT EARTH 60 which sounds incredible but my strings are pretty much dead (as I have been primarily playing my Ibanez for recording and jamming purposes, and this beauty is not getting the love it deserves), captured directly using my phone. Tried learning this today as this song popped up on my YT Music algorithm out of nowhere reminding me of good ol' days when they as a band didn't really thump or slap the guitar or have insane drumming with 50 gazillion ghost notes. :P Just strapped the metronome to match the time signature changes - and played away.

This song in itself is a killer exercise and a test of patience - fingerpicking, extended range chords on an 8 string guitar, blazingly fast solo which I can ONLY dream of playing (ONE DAY THOUGH!!!). The passages which come right next are insanely technical. I have no formal training and I am a self taught guitarist, so classical stuff is really beyond me. But I am still going to learn the song till the point I can!

Enjoy and let me know your thoughts, folks!

Covering some good ol' INTERVALS! Judge my skill level and suggest me songs to cover in the comments, I might try to learn them! :)

Trying to practice Hybrid picking as much as possible as I truly am garbage (is an understatement) at Alternate Picking.

Learned this in the spare time that I get after my shift ended as I got the official tab book from Sheet Happens Publishing, excuse the niggles. Guitar is an Ibanez RG7421 with a Bareknuckle Pickups Juggernaut bridge; tone using a NAM A2 profile going in an Ownhammer IR, followed by mild reverb courtesy of Strymon Night Sky plugin and some EQ, all running inside Reaper. Mastered using Fabfilter Pro C + Submission audio Flatline 2. I need to get my action fixed, and get some new strings as these have died a long time ago lol.

Suggest me some songs which you think I might do justice to, I'll try to learn and cover those in the coming days, and probably record them as well! Thank you :)

Any Plini fans on this sub? Tried learning one of the best solos from him of all time. FFO: progressive instrumental metal / jazz fusion music.

The track's name is "Selenium Forest" by Plini. For the uninitiated, he is a solo musician that I have been following for years now, and is an insane songwriter, recognized by the greats of Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan, etc.

For the tones, I used a Soldano SLO 100 NAM A2 capture, with Ownhammer IRs, directly into the Strymon Big Sky plugin, with some EQ on the post, mastered using Pro C3 by Fabfilter and Submission Audio's Flatline 2. Let me know your thoughts, cheers!
