I made a plugin for setting a target stable page count
KOReader’s stable page-number feature normally asks you to choose a “characters per page” value, which didn’t map very naturally to how I think about book length.
I made a small plugin that works the other way around: enter the stable page count you want, and it finds the closest native characters-per-page setting.
It still uses KOReader’s existing synthetic page maps, so page labels, bookmarks, navigation, and status information continue to work normally. It also shows the page count corresponding to KOReader’s default of 1500 characters per page.
I’ve tested it on a Kindle with EPUBs, but I’d be interested to hear whether it works well on Kobo, Android, and other KOReader platforms.
