Planning Sandakphu Trek This Autumn

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to do the Sandakphu Trek this autumn, probably around late October or early November. I've heard this is one of the best seasons because of the clear mountain views and pleasant weather, and I'd really like to catch the sunrise over Kanchenjunga.

I have experience with a few Himalayan treks, but this will be my first time in the Sandakphu region. I have a few questions for those who've already done it:

  • How cold does it actually get during autumn, especially at night?
  • Are trekking poles and microspikes necessary during this season?
  • How reliable are the tea houses for food and accommodation?
  • Any tips for getting the best views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga?
  • Anything you wish you knew before doing this trek?

Would love to hear your experiences, recommendations, or even mistakes to avoid. Thanks in advance!

A few flower shots from my Valley of Flowers Trek

Sharing a few flower photos from my trek to Valley of Flowers. The colors, the variety, and the scenery made every step worth it.
