How are you actually supposed to learn the obscure MRCP Part 1 facts?
I’m preparing for MRCP Part 1 and I’m getting increasingly confused about what I’m actually supposed to learn from.
For example, I just did a question on gynaecomastia from pastest where the answer was digoxin. The explanation then listed several other drugs that can cause gynaecomastia, a couple are well-known associations, but some of the others are things I’ve literally never seen mentioned in First Aid or any of the resources I’ve used. Even digoxin was unheard of for me. Same thing with questions on bilateral parotid swelling giving obscure viruses/drugs as causes.
I understand that MRCP is broader than USMLE/First Aid, but where are people actually learning these random associations from?
