A few days ago I finished Cyberpunk with all its endings, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one bothered/frustrated by some of them? The endings where V manages to get Johnny out of his head and only has six months to find a solution offer no answers about how our character ends up, just open endings that remain very vague or unanswered.
It really makes me feel like all those hours of gameplay and my choices in searching for a solution so my character could survive were completely FOR NOTHING because, in the end, the game refuses to tell us what happens at the end.
The only endings where we get real details about the future of our character and their loved ones are the ones where they die or commit suicide (one of the best; it gave me chills).
Why not give us any conclusions at these endings? As soon as there's a glimmer of hope, CD Projekt cuts the story short.
It gives me the impression that they're kind of incomplete (even though I think that's actually the case; for example, the ending of "The Sun" where you go on a mission in space was supposed to be DLC but was canceled because of the mess that was the game's production) compared to the endings where V dies.
The Nomads' ending touched me. The Sun too (even though I find it a bit more forced in some ways), but they really seem incomplete to me. I hope that in the second game we'll be able to choose one of these incomplete endings to continue the story like the starting classes, even though that's very likely not going to happen.
