my first ever attempt at pinning butterflies!

my first ever attempt at pinning butterflies!

as an autistic guy with an insect obsession i feel like i just found my niche, it’s genuinely SO fun to do for some reason??
also, any tips for a starter like me?

any tips?

found this beautiful wing fragment a couple days ago, took it home. any tips on how to preserve it?

from what i inspected, the bird was fully decomposed and that shady looking upper edge of the wing has no smell at all, but i would still prefer to sanitize it for safety reasons. any ideas on how to do it so the whole thing doesn’t fall apart?

edit: i’m not in the US and not doing illegal stuff

help me out!

so a week ago i found this beautiful boy pine marten, all bones completely intact, yada yada. his skeleton is currently macerating.

i want to ask you guys for help - i really need every possible reference you can find of marten (or generally the mustelidae family) skeletons, maybe visual guides for assembling them. ANYTHING that can help. any possible illustration of their anatomy. because i really, really want to assemble this little guy’s skeleton fully and give him a new life. thank you in advance!

also, decided to call him Valefor :)

help me out gangification

are these references good enough to help me assemble a pine marten skeleton? mostly worried about paws since it looks like a really difficult lego set and i’m basically the level of a three year old at this stuff lol

pine marten skeleton preparation

hey! i really need tips on how to assembly a pine marten skeleton. for context, it’s my first ever actual full skeleton project and i really want it to come out as nice as it possibly can for my first time, lol.
i cleaned the bones from tissue, sorted them all and put them outside to macerate (separated all four legs from each other, put the lower and upper parts of the skull into different jars to prevent small teeth from mixing up, put all the delicate parts into old nylon socks so i don’t lose any small bones during water change)

so i think i did a good job with that, but i am still a little worried about the actual assembling part once all the bones are ready.

i would be VERY grateful if y’all could send me references, maybe illustrations of marten (mustelidae family in general) skeleton anatomy, ESPECIALLY paws. any form of visual guide will be very appreciated and i hope you guys can help me<3
