Returned the Even G2 glasses and the R1 ring within the first week of use

The tech is cool and all but it seems more like a gimmick than a everyday practical tool. This is my breakdown of why:

  1. Dashboard - this can be solved with a smart watch
  2. Tested conversate 1:1 and in a group. This feature was very distracting. I noticed reading the prompt + trying to have a normal conversation is really awkward and distracting. Especially when the other person is wondering why you are pausing for so long.
  3. Translation: Also meh. It sometimes picks up the wrong words and there is a 1 second delay when translating. It's also very weird to chat with someone that doesn't speak english because of how one sided this feels. In practice if someone speaks to me in german, I can understand what they are saying but I can't reply in german. Having a phone out and do a 1 to 1 translation feel much more human. The delay translating with a phone is a feature, not a bug
  4. Teleprompter - this is the only thing that is quite useful but it's a feature that I rarely use
  5. Navigate - this is useful but not that useful if you aren't traveling often. If I'm familiar with the city. I don't need this that much.
  6. Even AI - I like this the most; I enjoy this quite a bit but i notice that I only use this when I'm alone because in public, people will think I'm crazy talking to no one.

Overall, this is a great product but definitely not worth $850USD yet. I would definitely consider it worth while if it's $400 USD.
