Towards the end of 1.18 I started playing with this tenet, which is when i realized how strong it is.

What does ritual suicide do? - It allows you to reliable time the death of your ruler and thereby his succession.

This allows you to get rid of an aging ruler starting to accumulate bad traits and even stronger with the 1.19 update and the new aging traits. Instead of waiting and sometimes praying for death or relying on rng with hunts, battles or a regular suicide attmept, you have full control. The heir you raised meticulously doesn't have to wait half their life for their parent to die and instead can succeed as soon as they're ready.

This also avoids the stagnation in gameplay of playing an already "completed" character. Once all the perks are unlocked, traits like hastiluder and hunter are max level and the realm is stable, there aren't many meaningful things left to do in my experience. In this case ritual suicide works as a kind of "end turn" button that allows access to the high engagement early rule gameplay of your heir.

I'm not reforming or creating a new religion without this tenet for the foreseeable future.
