Has Anyone Successfully Introduced a New Husky After Losing One?

Hi everyone, my 10-year-old husky Jax passed away suddenly last week in the early hours of the morning. It’s been really hard on our family, and we’re now looking to adopt another husky. We still have our 5-year-old female husky, Cleo, and we’d love for her — and us — to have another companion in the house.

The dog we’re considering is Luka, a 1½-year-old husky. Cleo and Luka already met at the park one-on-one, and it went really well. They played together for about 30 minutes with no issues at all, and overall the meeting couldn’t have gone better.

Luka is coming from a good family that needs to rehome him, and from what we’ve been told he doesn’t have any behavioral issues.

I’m mainly just wondering what to expect when bringing him into the house for the first time. Since their first meeting went so well, do you think that’s usually a good sign for how things may go at home

Dog passed want answers

My beloved dog Jax passed away this morning and I can’t wrap my head around it.

I woke up to a very loud howl/scream that lasted about 30 seconds. I got to him within seconds after it stopped, and he was already gone.

I checked my cameras afterward, and for about an hour before he died he was pacing around and seemed uncomfortable. About 10 minutes before it happened, he went outside, vomited, pooped, came back inside, laid down for about 5 minutes, then suddenly started screaming/howling and died.

He seemed completely normal earlier in the night.

Has anyone experienced something like this or have any idea what could cause such a sudden death? I’m devastated and struggling to understand what happened.
