Hi everyone,

I’ll be honest: I know absolutely nothing about Vagabond, not even the basic plot. However, seeing it praised everywhere as a masterpiece has made me want to start.

The thing is, I strictly dislike reading manga digitally. Whenever I try to read on a screen, I find myself just "scrolling" through the chapters to finish them, rather than actually absorbing the story. I lose the connection with the characters and the philosophy. To truly understand and feel a story as deep as Vagabond, I need to have the physical book in my hands.

I live in Turkey, and because of the exchange rates, I have a set budget. I can spend around 1500 - 2500 TRY ($33 - $55 at current rates) per month on manga. This allows me to buy one VizBig volume per month, meaning it will take me exactly a year to finish the series.

I have two main questions:

1.Format Choice: Should I go for the VizBigs for the larger art and 3-in-1 value, or are the Standard Singles better for a first-time reader despite being harder to collect?

2.The "Slow-Burn" Approach: Since I’ll be buying/reading only one VizBig (3 volumes) every month, will this slow pace help me digest the story better, or will I lose the momentum?

I want this to be more than just a reading session; I want it to be a meaningful investment for my library. What do you think?

Thanks for your guidance!
