一剪梅·红藕香残玉簟秋

I studied Li Qingzhao's poem when I was in school, but back then I only knew the surface of classical poetry without understanding its deeper meaning.

Now, appreciating this poem again, while I wouldn't say I fully empathize, I can grasp some of the poet's feelings at that time. It's filled with the sorrow of parting.

When a 1000-year-old poem meets ink

The poem is "Farewell to a Friend" by Wen Tingyun. It paints a picture of autumn leaves falling, a lonely sail on the river, and the deep sorrow of saying goodbye.

Osmanthus Fragrance - Wang Anshi(practice)

Original transcript:

To celebrate friend's shop

My brother name is Tony. He gave the friend's shop a calligraphy piece as a gift. May his "June Tea & Coffee" shop be filled with people sitting there every night, each cup fragrant with the aroma of wine.

Tonight~

I haven't logged into Reddit for a day. I've seen many comments, including debates and suggestions regarding my post. I've seen them all and will pay attention and make clear notes in the future.

BTW, I want to reiterate here: all the calligraphy works I post are by my brother, and all his works are Chinese calligraphy in cursive script.

Wang Xizhi's "De Shi Tie"

Written over 1,600 years ago, Wang Xizhi's original was a simple note, a fleeting thought captured in ink. Yet, within its fluid lines, he unlocked a universe of expression, earning his title as the "Sage of Calligraphy."

I built a free AI music tool, i need advice!

I'm a developer who loves music, not a musician who codes. I have no idea if the sound quality is actually good.
Could some of you try generating something and tell me: Does this sound decent to real ears?

A Chinese Calligraphy Lamp DIY!

Soft light filtering through traditional brushstrokes. I used my brother’s calligraphy to create this piece. It blends the ancient art of writing with modern minimalism. Perfect for a quiet evening of reading or meditation. 📜

Cao Zhi, a genius stifled by his era.

"The power of public opinion to discredit the truth remains true today. Cao Zhi's poem 'When the Wall Wants to Rise High' reminds us that when rumors become weapons, the truth has nowhere to hide. This calligraphy describes a grievance from a thousand years ago, but it also reflects how we are misunderstood, isolated, and blocked outside the 'nine gates' in every era."

My editor is very strict. She demands more cola and better curves!

Tonight, we got a new partner! She takes her role as head of quality control very seriously, perched right on the cola, watching the ink dance. So sweet🥰

Chasing the Moonlight on the River: A Night with Calligraphy

There’s a quiet magic in the stillness of night, when the world slows down and the brush becomes an extension of the soul. We are lost in the verses of Zhang Ruoxu’s *Spring River, Flower, Moon, Night* — a poem that has echoed through centuries, capturing the timeless dance of river, moon, and human longing.

As the ink flowed onto the paper, each stroke felt like a whisper: “春江潮水连海平,海上明月共潮生” (The spring river rises level with the sea; The bright moon rises with the tide). The characters, in their fluid cursive script, seemed to ripple like water, carrying the weight of ancient wisdom and the lightness of a moonlit dream.

My favorite kind of silence

I took a few days off, but my brother definitely didn't—his brush has been busy!

I'm curious about your story🥰—what was the spark that made you start learning or fall in love with calligraphy?

u/uaoun_ — 11 days ago

I posted one of my brother’s calligraphy pieces yesterday, and today's work is coming😃

Sometimes he writes very slowly, almost carefully breathing with the brush. Other times the strokes suddenly become fast and emotional, like he stopped trying to control anything.

What surprises me most is that even though I can’t fully read cursive script, I can still feel the mood from it.

Maybe that’s why I keep wanting to watch him practice.

I told him that some foreign friends had praised his work highly, and he was very happy. The photo taken today even has his own personalized watermark added.🤣🤣

He just sent me a copy of Wang Xizhi's calligraphy, the "Two Xie Letters," which he just finished. Although I'm not professional, I really like his work. Firstly, the running-cursive style seems to convey emotion; it's very unrestrained, making me feel like I'm watching a free dancer. Secondly, it's my admiration for my him!(๓´˘`๓)
