It's been an interesting few months and I wanted to share my reflections. Standard disclaimers. I am not a doctor, these are just my experiences, yours may be completely different and that is fine.

  1. This may seem obvious, but certain foods can drag your GLP-1 behind a corner and shoot it in the face. For me, one of these foods is hot cheetos. As I lost weight, I decided I could keep small snacks and treats in the house and this worked well for ice cream, donuts, coffee drinks, etc. I could have a reasonable portion of these and go about my day, not so with hot cheetos. I bought two family sized bags and portioned them out at 180 calories and put them in little zip lock bags. I ate about 520 calories a day of hot cheetos this way. Once I got started, it was hard to stop, even on 15mg Zep. I will not be buying anymore hot cheetos anytime soon.

  2. Find a hobby, read a book, play some video games. For me at least, a lot of what I thought was food noise, was just preoccupation with my diet. On days where I am hanging out with friends, caught up in a good book or playing a game, I notice I am not so preoccupied with food. I am not a doctor and everyones situation is different, however I would encourage people to see if keeping busy helps with food noise. I know real food noise is a thing, regardless of how busy you are, but your mind wanders when you have nothing to do and the return of obsessive food thoughts may be less to do with the efficacy of your GLP-1 and more to do with being bored.

2a. If your eating was/is tied to emotional issues and trauma, see a therapist/ psychiatrist. GLP-1's will blunt your ability to stuff yourself during stressful times, but they arent a cure all.
