Copper Pipe Leading to House?

Does anyone know what this copper pipe might be that's leading into my house? It's very shallow(3") then gets deeper close to the house, then ultimately connects to the house.

I have 811 DIG coming out to mark everything now. Called the gas service, and they don't believe it's gas because of it being copper. My first inclination was a gas line, because the location it enters into the house is near our gas burners in the kitchen.

Please let me know your thoughts,
