Why was going barefoot more common in the 60’s and 70’s? Did you go barefoot then?

Has anyone here been to a forest bathing event or school and gone barefoot? Are others there also barefoot? Was the instructor barefoot or supportive of your bare feet?

I’m thinking of going to one but I’m wondering what the climate is really like for barefooters.
