Mould in new apartment

Hello :)

Follow up just on my last post with pictures of the mould. The first image is in the closet and the third is behind it. We moved all of our clothes today, probably should've done a check first :(

HELP Mouldy rental

Hi everyone

I'm wondering about tenant rights in Ireland and how we go about mold. My boyfriend and I recently moved into a new apartment after a long search (we are students, as you know it can be very difficult.) and we really liked it. Everything seemed fine until we had a closer inspection post deposit and lease signing and realised the very obvious mold covering that's been done. The bedroom is really bad, we initially noticed the closet was quite bad so we pulled it out to find it absolutely horrendous behind it. There's also a chest of drawers covered and smells very badly of mold and dampness. We are going to discuss with our landlord tomorrow and i'm a bit nervous on how to actually approach it. A key thing to note in that it's a private rental, located at the back of the landlords house with its own private entrance. I've lived with mold in my previous apartment, i know it's unfortunately very common in Irish rentals especially with our budget (although this was our maximum), however i've only ever had it on windows and the bathroom. Our parents think that we should give our notice (this is only our second day living here) but i'm wondering where exactly we stand with that. From what i've read, as long as we give our notice aligning with what the lease says then we will not lose our deposit?

Thanks in advance.
