I need help! I need a super nerd NPC!

My players are going to try to interrogate an NPC who unknowingly works for the BBEG. He is a researcher and very smart. How do I make it a fun challenge? I want it to be difficult but I want them to be able to get some info from him.

My “mini driver” I’ve been playing for ~22 years.

Last season I drove through a dogleg on a long par 5 and had to punch out. I ended up putting it in for eagle with this thing from ~260 yards blind in a valley.
