Just a gentle warning for my noise sensitive girlies going

Hey! Saw the show yesterday and absolutely loved it, so amazing seeing some of my favourite songs ‘Let It Out’ and ‘Not Your Seed’ actually in person. The cast were wonderful and the show has been further elevated since the pro shot/LA Production.

However this show is LOUD! I was sat near the front of the stalls and there were a couple of numbers when the sound hit me big time and felt a bit overwhelming.

I would recommend loops or earbud’s if you need a little protection. It was especially bad in ‘Join us and die’ and parts of ‘show stopping number’. It was a little sad because the guitar (which was being played amazingly) drowned out the voices of Jaime and Ivan in their songs and made it quite hard to hear lyrics. I felt a little dazed during Join us and die, and it did seem like something was off about Jaime’s mic but that might have just been the volume of it.

If you’re in a box you’ll also be right next to the speakers. Also as many have discussed there was an incident where someone needed medical treatment. So please make sure to wear cool clothing and drink water when seeing the show.

Also be aware of flashing lights at several points of the show.

Has anyone seen any of the Understudies yet?

I saw that Jaime said she was having a day off performances a couple of days ago? Have any understudies performed yet? What were they like?

The audio issues in the Pro Shot

In general I’m really happy with the pro shot, I love that they’ve used some wider angle shots and kept a more live sounding vocal for the songs.

However I’m sure anyone who’s bought the pro shot has noticed the huge audio issues in the scene where people notice the Meteor falling and in the chopper scene with Zoey.

I’m a little disappointed that Starkid or at lean Brian Holden addressed the issue where the show couldn’t be downloaded but no one has at all addressed the awful compressed and muffled mic’s in those scenes.

It’s been a few days so a little announcement about it or any kind of acknowledgment would have been really nice. I know they’re opening the show in London but this pro shot was heavily delayed so it’s really disappointing to pay 20 dollars for a show that feels a little unfinished.

What are people’s thoughts on this?

Hey folks going to the London shows.

This is just a general request from me as a fellow viewer of the show.

I know we’re all super excited to go and see our first full Live Starkid show down in London soon.

  1. Can I ask that anyone going to see the show remembers not to sing along or speak the lines while the show is happening. I know this might be a given but considering that we all sang along with the previous concerts (as was encouraged) I do worry that certain audiences might forget that general Theatregoing rules apply for a full show even if it is one they love like Guy!

Lauren actually posted about this during the run in the US. Someone shouted ‘fuck Clivesdale’ during her dramatic monologue with John and it really threw her off. We’ve all paid a lot of money for these tickets and I know we all want to hear the actors say and sing their lines so we can appreciate them.

There will also likely be audience members who have never seen the original show or don’t know about the changes for the remount (not everyone has seen the digital ticket!) so let’s not ruin their experiences.

Also please don’t whisper or chat when the show is happening.

  1. This is a BIG one that again should be a given but just a personal plea.

London is HOT as it gets into summer. So please have bathed and be wearing deodorant during the performance. Personal cleanliness is just a basic act of decency for your fellow fans.

When I saw Starkid Innit a couple years ago unfortunately there were quite a few people sat nearby with the unmistakable smell of BO, and being someone with sensitivity to noise and smells it is distracting. I understand that a lot of us deal with Anxiety and a lot of Mental Health conditions (myself included) but please make the effort to be fresh and wear clean clothing.

  1. Cosplay is common at any of these shows but be aware during the actual show if you’re wearing a hat or wig that might block the view of the person behind. As a short king I really don’t want to have to be leaning forward the whole time.

  2. Please don’t be fiddling with Apple Watches or your phone during the shows. I’ve been to so many shows over the past year where people have been checking their devices and the lights are so distracting!

—————-

Obviously I’m just a fellow fan and I’m not trying to be bossy or force people to follow my advice. But as we’ve all paid a lot for tickets and presumably merch, I really want us all to enjoy the show as much as we can!

Now let’s get excited and have a blast!
