Hello everyone.
A few months ago, the school I work for decided to get tadpoles and I decided to make sure they get to live their little froggy lives to the best of my ability.
We had 11 tadpoles, and over the course of natural selection, we were down to 7. All 7 became cute little wood frogs. However, as I hadn't cared for frogs before, despite my best intentions and attempt with the materials I had available at the school and at home, two escaped the enclosure and didn't make it. One more was taken by a hot day near a window, and another by (I assume) stress just this morning.
I have 3 frogs now, and I intend to love and care for them as best as I can, but I wanted to make this post to remember the tiny little lives that I rescued from life in a plastic tub, even if it wasn't a long life. I know that frogs don't always survive to adulthood in the wild, and sometimes things just happen, but it's still a bummer. So this is also dedicated to anyone who has tried their best.
I wish tadpoles/frogs weren't used as science experiments at schools ://
