Dansco 7070

I finally finished my album! I saw several posts in r/coins that made me want to complete one of these and it took about 3 years. Definitely some upgrades coming, but not for a while.

Some thoughts:

The Capped Bust half with the lettered edge is probably my favorite coin in the book. I’d never seen Capped Busts before, and I loved this one when I saw it. The reeded edge is really nice too, but it’s cleaned.

The Morgan may not look great in the pictures, but it has some nice toning. I inherited several of the coins in this book from my grandfather, and he got the Morgan when he opened a savings account in 1964.

I really like my Draped Bust large cent. It’s not high grade or anything, but I was happy with it. This was one of the hardest coins to find outside of the Seated Liberty dollars.

I know it’s historically accurate and they are technically different designs, but man, I am tired of buying Seated Liberties. Three half dimes, three dimes, three quarters, three half dollars, and two dollars is too much for such similar coins. Plus, having to drop that much on the dollars made them my least favorite.

Perfect key

It’s been said that this two mover has the perfect key. What do you think?

My favorite toned coin

Kind a reverse proof toning. I’m new to the community and coin collecting. Is this natural?

Impossible mate in 2

White to play up the board and mating on the second move. The key is not a check or a capture so don’t even try these moves. Very difficult.
