Tony Thornton's return, better music variety, and at least two new Amazing Plumbing Heating & Air advertisements that are less painful than the classic "I was 14 with a pregnant girlfriend" bit. I just wanted to shout out the positive changes I noticed over the past several days.
I bought the Blue De Chanel (EDP) hype upon joining over a year ago. You all did not disappoint. I see the Sauvage posts; upon sampling it's not for me, but I totally get it. It's great and I smell my decant from time to time. I might even spray a little to workout in my basement and shower afterward.
But Creed Aventus...; I want to be clear, I'm not trying to yuck someone's yum. Creed Aventus is just not my yum and seemingly nobody else's either. I'm having difficulty even seeing the appeal. I wanted to yum it so bad too, especially after gambling a little extra money for a 5ml sample. It's the #1 male fragrance! Everyone on here says it's their most complimented fragrance. It's supposed to have big, fruity and sweet notes. How can you go wrong if you're looking for something fruity and sweet as the fruit of summer time ripens!
I got my office into fragrances and we've made a tradition of buying and bringing in Decantx frags to sample their notes and performance. Out of 4 people, these were their remarks
Person 1. "Oh! That's literally a punch in the face."
Person 2. "It smells like the first time I got into a locker room fight and got punched in the face. It's smells like I just got punched in the nose."
Person 3. "It smells like a sausage fest. It smells kind of...(*whispers) gay? If that makes sense?"
Person 4. "Oh no. No. That's not it, *imitates choking. That just made me sick."
I did not manipulate these results or influence anyone to react in my favor. These are all their true, unhindered reactions.
Anyway, I'm not trying to say it's bad, it's just not for me. The performance is strong, I wish other houses would take notes. I'm trying to gleen if others had similar experiences though. Has anyone found there's a right way to wear it? Is this just a very young male fragrance? Does it dry down nice? Does it even dry down? I don't think I can get to that point. Maybe I can try just misting it into the air and walking into it.
Last thought; Creed J'Ardin D'Almafi and Creed Virgin Island water are the only other Creeds I've sampled and are absolutely outstanding. Creed's performance (so far) is top notch, and the house seems great, but that Aventus unfortunatley eludes me. Cheers to those that love it, I know there are many. Happy Sunday.
