Controversial topic: Lumon 🫣
Guys. Hear me out. Yes, Lutteo were great in their prime. And yes, I used to support them too - but only in the early seasons. Please read everything before you judge me 😭 But once you did, please give me your opinions.
When they were just kids in high school, their dynamic made a lot of sense. Luna was naive, vulnerable, and had very little self-confidence, while Matteo swooped in with his charisma and arrogance, giving her all that attention and validation - while also playing with her feelings a little. And yes, that eventually turned into a genuine connection and deep feelings for each other.
But in S4, it became very clear to me that, although Luna and Matteo were once something special, they were not meant to end up together.
The character development Matteo seemed to have in S3 - becoming less of a "chico fresa" and genuinely growing as a person - was, to some extent, undone in S4. And honestly, it showed that sometimes people can grow and change, but their core differences still remain. So they broke up (yes, with a little help from Matteo's manager).
And then there's Simón.
Simón has loved Luna from the very beginning - not just romantically, but as a friend and as a person. He's always been warm, caring, and genuine. He doesn't play games when it comes to love. He's been Luna's confidant, her best friend, the person she can always come back to. And most importantly, he's always wanted what's best for her, even when that meant standing by and watching her fall in love with someone else.
Of course, I don't want to disregard Simbar, because their relationship was incredibly interesting too. They got together when they were both hurt and vulnerable, and in a way, they initially used each other as a coping mechanism. But they also challenged each other constantly. They discovered new sides of themselves and each other, and they genuinely grew together.
Then S4 happened, and they broke up. I don't want to blame the writers for that, nor Valentina Zenere for not participating in S4. Honestly, I think their relationship might have outgrown itself anyway. As much as they loved each other, there were simply too many fundamental differences between them. For Simón, Ámbar was something exciting, but she wasn't the ONE.
And that brings us to where we are now: Simón and Luna, both single.
Throughout S4, Simón was always incredibly clear about his feelings and intentions towards Luna, while Luna was understandably confused. Simón had always been her best friend. How do you suddenly look at the person who's been beside you for years and realize that maybe you've been looking at him the wrong way all along?
But towards the end of S4, I think Luna slowly started to realize something.
Simón is the person who stays.
He's the person who has always been there, who knows her better than almost anyone, who will always treat her with tenderness and respect. He doesn't need to play games or make her chase him. He doesn't need to prove himself to her. He just loves her - deeply, consistently, and completely.
And when Simón told Matteo, "For you, Luna is just another girl. For me, she is the only girl," I genuinely think that sums up why Luna deserves him.
Because after everything Luna has been through, doesn't she deserve a love that feels safe?
A love that isn't a game.
...That doesn't leave her wondering where she stands.
...And with someone who is not only completely in love with her, but also her best friend in the entire world.
Luna finally realized that she was done with the games.
She was ready for something secure, deep, and meaningful.
She was ready for happiness.
And honestly? I think Simón has been her home all along. 🥺🤍
