This game made me bawl my eyes out... twice!
Hades I is one of my ultimate favorite games and I was ants-in-my-pants waiting for the PS5 release of Hades II. I can't quite put in words why exactly, but this game really got me on a whole different level from the beginning. My 41 nights so far have been an absolute blast, and I'm sure there's many more to come. Everything I loved in H1 is there, and for me personally, some extra magic (also the magick) I can't explain. I love Melinoe so much, and poor bitter grandaddy too. While the focus on family relationships made H1 already a wholesome experience, the ache and longing for a family in H2 really hit my emotions. I cried the first time I met Hades in Tartarus, and the second I saw Chronos count for hide and seek in the "alternative past", I started bawling. Like seriously bawling, so much I had to take a small break to take it in. 😅 I've lost family members untimely, and had a difficult relationship (since repaired) with my father, so the idea of imagining a new past of what-ifs and cherishing those memories truly makes my heart ache. Thank you, Supergiant!
