Newly built townhouse

Hello everyone,

Seeking some advice.

My partner and I started to look for some properties. One the places that we are interested in is a newly built townhouse.

We would definitely perform the building inspection and check if the builder is a reliable one. However, I just saw that significant structural damages with these new builds are quite common.

Can a good building inspector pick up possible future structural damages?

This property is in Western Melbourne - close to West sunshine. I heard that the soil is more reactive there.

What else could I do to minimise my risks.

Thank you for any info.
